Program Description

The Minnesota Association of County Veteran Service Officers received a grant of $25,000 to kick-start a program that will help Minnesota veterans in rural northwestern Minnesota get transportation to their nearest VA Hospital. There are many veterans in need in this area, and MACVSO has successfully partnered with other veteran-serving organizations, like the Disabled American Veterans of Minnesota, to get this venture off the ground. Veterans Transportation

Program Description

The V4V Trust Fund has been a major donor to the veterans’ transportation program across the MN Counties by providing financial assistance in the purchase of vans used by volunteer drivers who transport veterans in need of transportation to and from their medical appointments at VA medical facilities in Minneapolis, St. Cloud, Fargo and other VA facilities serving MN veterans. We have contributed close to $200K to support this key program. The V4V Trust Fund has also provided financial assistance to MN counties and Veterans Homes in the purchase of vans and buses used to transport veterans.

Dental Clinic at Mpls Veterans Home

 

Program Description

The V4V Trust Fund provided $60K to the Minneapolis Veterans Home as startup funds to purchase dental equipment for the new Dental Clinic there serving their residents. This is one of the 1st of its kind in State-run veterans homes.

Veterans Outdoors Programs for Disabled Veterans

The V4V Trust Fund has been a major donor to the Camp Ripley Veterans Outdoors Program that provides hunting and fishing events ( three annually ) for disabled veterans. This partnership with some of the major VSOs ( DAV, American Legion, MOPH, VFW ) is bringing a better quality of life to veterans. Several other local organizations providing outdoors programs for veterans have also received financial support:
